Under “Collective Responsibility, Action and Accountability for Improved Nutrition (CRAAIN)” project, funded by European Union, technical assistance by Concern World Wide, through initiatives of Jagrata Juba Shangha (JJS); Mongla Upazilla administration organized meeting on ” World Breastfeeding Week 2020″ on 12 August 2020 at Upazilla Health Complex hall room. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Jibitesh Biswas, Upazilla Health and Family Planning Officer. Upazilla Nirbahi Officer, Kamolesh Majumder was chief guest.
Among others, there were Nayan Kumar Rajbongsi, Assistant Commissioner (Land); Md Iqbal Hossain (Upazilla Vice-Chairman).
In the meeting there were also chairmen, media personnel and elite persons of the Upazilla. Dr. Jibitesh Biswas, Md Mamun or Rashid, Moutithi Aich discussed on the role of breastfeeding in mothers and child’s health, Green Feeding advocacy campaign and other nutritional and health issues. Upazilla Administration, Mongla ensured their full co-operation in implementation of “CRAAIN” project activities. Mongla Upazilla Nutrition Co-ordination committee was formed through the meeting.
It is to be noted, CRAAIN project is implemented in all unions of 04 Upazilla named Kochua, Mollahat, Mongla and Sarankhola through coastal consortium (Concern World Wide, JJS, Rupantar and Water Aid)
