A meeting was held at the library conference room of the Jatiya Sangsad on Wednesday with Deputy Speaker M Fazle Rabbi Mian in the chair to expedite modernization of the parliament library.
Speaking on the occasion, the deputy speaker said the parliament library is one of the biggest libraries in the country. It is the sacred duty of the officials and employees of parliament secretariat to preserve properly all books and documents of the library, he said, adding that the authorities would do whatever needed to this end.
Full air-conditioning of the library, preservation of books, establishing an archive and digitalization of the library were discussed in the meeting.
Parliament secretariat officials and library director were present at the meeting, said an official release.
