A two-day National Medical College Debate Festival began at Chittagong Medical College (CMC) on Friday.
National Debate Federation Bangladesh (NDF-BD) and CMC Debating Club are organizing the festival. The festival began at Shah Alam Biruttom auditorium at CMC through singing the national anthem. Earlier, a colourful rally was brought out from CMC premises which concluded at the festival venue after parading different streets.
CMC principal Dr Selim Mohammad Jahangir presided over the function while President of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA), Chittagong chapter, Dr Mijubul Hoque Khan attended as the chief guest. Speakers in the function put emphasis on debate and urged the debaters to bring welfare in the society through logic. News Director of Ekattor Television Syed Istiak Reza, BMA Chittagong chapter General Secretary Dr Mohammad Sharif, NDF-BD Chairman AKM Shoeb and CMC Debating Club adviser Dr Nur Hossain Bhuiyan Shahin, among others, were present as special guests.
