A fresh medical board has been formed to examine BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s health condition in jail.
The Government has picked up five experienced doctors from the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University for the board.
Sources said, the board is likely to examine Khaleda Zia in jail on September 15 or 16.
Khaleda Zia’s lawyer Advocate Masud Ahmed Talukder said, “We have heard that a medical board has been formed for Khaleda’s health check-up, but we do not know doctors’ names.”
The home ministry sources said, the medical board had been formed upon request made by a BNP delegation led by its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir who called on Home Minister Asaduzzman Khan Kamal on September 10.
The BNP team asked also for treatment of Khaleda Zia at any specialised hospital of her choice.
The same day, Khaleda’s lawyers filed a writ petition with the High Court seeking its directive on her treatment at a specialised hospital.
