UNB, Dhaka :
A writ was filed with the High Court on Wednesday challenging the legality of conducting test for admission to medical and dental colleges under government supervision.
Advocate Yunus Ali Akand filed the writ.
The writ says as per section 5 of the Medical and Dental (MBBS and BDS) Council Act-2001, the council will hold the admission test but now it is being held under government supervision.
It also sought court rule asking the government to explain under which authority it is conducting the admission test and issuance of an order to stop that until the matter is disposed of.
The test for admission to medical and dental colleges for the 2014-15 academic session will be held on October 24.
In 2012, the government decided to cancel admission test for medical admission. Later, it retracted from its decision amid strong protests by students.
Yunus Ali then filed a writ seeking a court directive to hold medical admission test under the supervision of the universities concerned.
