Mediation can substantially reduce case backlog: CJ

Chief Justice of Bangladesh Justice Md. Muzammel Hossain said that mediation can substantially reduce our case backlog strengthening social peace and fraternity and allow our courts to concentrate on cases involving complicated legal issues on Tuesday.
He also said, Judicial Strengthening (JUST) Project has been improving the case management system to reduce case backlog and to ensure access to important components of this project is to increase the judge’s ability to research on relevant case.
Bangladesh and India share the inheritance of English common laws and India is one of the few counties in world who have established a solid research base library on legal matters and functioning under the Common Law system.
Chief Justice was addressing a seminar as Chief Guest on case Management, Court Administration and way to speedy Disposal of Law organised by Bangladesh Supreme Court and UNDP-JUST Project held at Kishoreganj Circuit house conference room on Tuesday.
National Project Director JUST and Senior District Judge Md. Quddess Zaman attended as special guest while Kishoreganj District & Session Judge A.M Md. Sayeed Presided over the seminar.
