Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Saturday said the role of media is indispensible to build a developed nation.
The Minister termed mass media as one of the fourth pillar of the country and said it should practice objective journalism, which eventually will contribute to nation building activities.
He made the comment at a workshop titled “Ethics of Journalism, dissemination of objective news and apprising of right to Information Act” as the chief guest at Bangabandhu Hall of Chattogram Press Club.
Bangladesh Press Council in cooperation with Chattogram district administration organized the workshop for journalists of both print and electronic media.
The information minister said all online news portals will be brought under registration soon as organizations concerned have already submitted reports in this regard.
