The Walton Media Cup Badminton Competition begins tomorrow at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium. Queen of Hearts, an event management company will organise the badminton tournament with the assistance of Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA) and Bangladesh Badminton Federation.
Regarding the badminton competition, a press conference was held at the Dutch-Bangla Bank Auditorium in Bangladesh Olympic Association Bhaban on Thursday.
Operative Director (Head of Sports & Welfare Department) of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, General Secretary of BSPA Rizwan-uz-Zaman Rajib, Managing Director of Queen of Hearts Borhan Azad and Member of the Executive Committee of Bangladesh Badminton Federation SM Saimul Haque were present at the conference.
Around 200 shuttlers from different 30 print, electronic and online media houses will take part in the badminton meet.
The events of the tournament are: Men’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s singles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles.
Editor of Samakal Golam Sarwar will inaugurate the badminton competition as the chief guest, while Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Biren Sikder will distribute the prizes among the winners as the chief guest on the concluding day.
The three-day long competition will come to an end on February 5.
