4th Islamic Games: Medal winning shooters return home

Three Bangladeshi shooters who won medals in the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku returned home on Tuesday morning by a flight of Turkish Airlines.
Secretary General of Bangladesh Shooting Sports Federation Intekhabul Hamid received the shooters at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
 Bangladeshi shooters Abdulla Hel Baki and Syeda Atkia Hassan Disha won Bangladesh’s first-ever gold medal in the Islamic Solidarity Games in mixed team event of the 10-metre Air Rifles Shooting at the Baku Shooting Centre on Sunday.
The Bangladeshi pair clinched the first gold medal for Bangladesh in the games new event beating their Iranian rivals by 5-1 points in the final.
Earlier on Saturday, another Bangladeshi shooter Rabbi Hasan Munna clinched the silver medal in the men’s 10 metre air rifles scoring 245.5 points on the very first day of the meet at the Baku Shooting Centre.
Meanwhile, a six-member first batch of Bangladesh Shooting team, including five shooters and an official, left Dhaka for Germany on Tuesday morning by a Turkish flight to participate in the ISSF World Cup Shooting, scheduled for Munich on May 17-24.
The rest shooters of the 16-member Bangladesh team will fly for Germany subject to getting visa from German Embassy after their return from Baku.
