The progress of Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign that began on last January 25 across the district was reviewed in a meeting here today.
Presided over by ADC (Rev) Md. Abdur Rashid, the meeting held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner was attended by the health department officials and concerned persons.
Civil Surgeon (CS) of Faridpur Dr. Sirajul Haque Talukdar who is officially heading the campaign informed the meeting that till yesterday a total of 2,48,876 children aged between 9 months and 15 years have been vaccinated out of the targeted 4,71,787 in the district. The campaign has covered all the 2,332 primary schools, secondary schools, madrashas, moktabs and non-formal education centers in the district, the CS said.
Besides, there are 11 fixed vaccination centers, centers at 1837 educational institutions and 2001 outreach centers where the campaign is going on and will continue till February 13, the CS further said.
He said, 900 vaccinators are engaged in vaccination in the district. The receivers of MR vaccination are being screened whether he or she has any problem of Respiratory distress or asthma history because in that case follow up for the receiver is necessary.
