UNB, Comilla University :
Students of Mass Communication and Journalism (MCJ) department of Comilla University’s (CoU) were forced to take part in their classes under the open sky for lack of necessary classrooms.
Mahmudul Hasan Rahat, newly recruited lecturer of the MCJ department, brought his students to Baishakhi Chattar on the campus after failing to find any empty room attached for MCJ department. He took his scheduled class there at noon.
“It’s my duty, as a teacher,I cannot avoid my responsibility, so I took the class even under the open sky,” said Lecturer Mahmudul Hasan.
Recognising the problem, the department head Md. Belal Hossain said they are facing acute classroom crisis at the department since the department launched on February 1, 2016. But they managed those when classrooms of other departments remained vacant.
However, there is only one classroom attached for the students of all four batches at the department.
