Mymensingh City Corporation Mayor (MCC) Md. Ekramul Haque Titu has distributed food items among the families affected by the fire in Islambagh slum under MCC area.
The food aid was distributed to 9 helpless families in Islambagh slum at 11:30 am on Monday. At that time, the mayor announced to provide cash assistance of Tk 5,000 to each affected family.
During the distribution, the mayor said, “We have been keeping a close watch on you since the fire broke out.” Our councilor is always by your side. We are by your side in all your needs.
He added that the damage would have been less if the fire service had been able to reach the scene. Fire service vehicles had to be kept away due to lack of roads.
