MCC inaugurates month-long Corona awareness campaign

The mayor of Mymensingh City Corporation (MCC) Md. Ikramul Haque Titu inaugurated a month-long awareness program on coronavirus infection at a shopping mall in the city’s new market area in collaboration with Save the Children on Monday.
During this time, he requested the buyers and sellers to wear masks and follow other hygiene rules and distributed masks and soap.
At the inauguration ceremony, the mayor said, “We have taken various activities from the beginning to prevent corona infection.” However, there is no substitute for wearing a regular mask to effectively prevent corona. So we need to be more aware about wearing masks and hygiene.
Mayor thanked Save the Children for working with Mymensingh City Corporation to prevent infection and hoped to do more in health care in the future.
The mayor urged all ward councilors to play a more effective role in their respective wards to ensure regular wearing of masks by all.
During the inauguration, Md. Tajul Islam, Councilor of Ward No. 10 of Mymensingh City Corporation, Rokshana Shirin, Councilor of reserved seats of Ward No. 10, 11 and 12, Chief Health Officer Dr. HK Debnath, Medical Officer. Redaur Rahman Khan, Executive Engineer Md. Zahirur Haque and other officials, Save the Children’s Manager City Corporation-Coordination Support Dr. Shamsun Nahar, Senior Officer Documentation Mr. Md. Atiqur Rahman, journalists from print and electronic media were present. Note that under this program, regular corona awareness activities will be conducted in Anjuman Eidgah Jame Mosque, Station Jame Mosque, Kachari Noor Jame Mosque, Ganginapar Jame Mosque, Ganginapar Market, Hawkers Market and Basabari Market through 14 volunteers.
