NU affiliated colleges ranking: MC College tops the list in Sylhet Divn

Amongst 685 honours and masters degree conferring colleges affiliated by The National University, Sylhet MC College has topped the list of 8 best colleges throughout Sylhet Division where Govt. Brindabon College, Habigonj emerged second while Govt. Women`s College Sylhet bagged the third position.
 This was announced by Prof. Dr. Harunur Rashid, Vice -Chancellor of National University in a news conference held at Dhanmondi-based Dhaka city resource centre of the University yesterday.
National University launched ranking programme on the basis of 31 indicators to decide best Colleges under its affiliation throughout the Country in order to promote quality education and create positive competition among the colleges. The VC opined that this venture is first of its kind in the country under National University.
On National basis the best 5 colleges are Eden Girls College Dhaka in Women`s Colleges Category, Rajshahi Govt. College is of nationalised category, Dhaka Commerce College is of non-govt. category.
Besides, others in Sylhet division, best colleges are Moulvibazar Govt. college,Madan Mohan College, Sylhet, Sunamgonj Govt. college, South Surma college and Sreemongol Govt. college, Moulvibazar.
On 20th May next, certificate, crest and prize will be distributed among those colleges in ceremony to be held at National Musium grand auditorium where Education Minister Mr. Nurul Islam Nahid, who is a former student of MC College Sylhet will be present as chief guest while Prof. Dr. Abdul Mannan, Chairman, University Grants Commision will be present as special guest.

Nuzhat letter now sent to 45th int’l writing competition to be held in Switzerland
After Nuzhat Anjum Rahman won the national championship in the Letter Writing Competition, arranged by Bangladesh Post Office (BPO), her letter has now been sent to the 45th International Writing Competition to be held in Switzerland.
