The students seeking retake of medical and dental college admission tests have called for mass gathering on the Central Shahed Minar premises today (Monday).
An appeal in this regard has been made to all the students and their guardians of all the universities, the colleges and the schools in the capital to take part in the programme.
The decision was announced on Sunday morning at the Central Shaheed Minar in a press briefing.
Leaflets were also distributed among the university, the college and the school students after the briefing.
Ayatullah, an admission seeker, told The New Nation that they had distributed leaflets at Dhaka University, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital and other universities and colleges.
“We are arranging a mass gathering on Monday at the Central Shaheed Minar to press home our demand.
We have requested the teachers, the students and their guardians in this connection.
We have distributed leaflets for this purpose. They have assured us of positive response,” Ayatullah said.
He said that the students would continue their movement until the cancellation of the test.
Advocate Nurul Amin on behalf of the guardians said that the mass gathering would be held under the banner of Student-Guardian Oikya Forum.
He expressed his optimism that a good number of guardians would join the today (Monday)’s programme.
“It is clear that the question papers were leaked.
We have got evidence that the students who got question papers have been admitted in different medical colleges.
But we don’t know why the government does not show any interest to take steps in this regard,” Nurul Amin said.
It may be mentioned that the admission seekers have been demonstrating since September 19 for cancellation of medical admission tests.
