Students seeking retake of medical and dental college admission tests threatened to ‘gherao’ the Health Ministry on September 27 for cancellation of the admission tests.
They said this at a rally in front of the Public Library at Shahbagh on Tuesday.
The students also submitted a memorandum to the office of the Prime Minister to press home their demands.
A four-member team (Saiful, Laila, Nahian and Nishan) went to the PM Office at about 3pm.
The students organised a rally protesting the question papers leakage and demanding cancellation of the examination in front of the National Press Club at 10am. But the police dispersed them from the spot at about 10:30am.
Later, they went to the Central Shaheed Minar around 11am. They stayed there till 1pm.
At 1pm, the students brought out a rally from the Central Shaheed Minar and police intercepted them in front of the main gate of Public Library. They sat there and held a rally and it ended at 2:30pm.
The agitating students said that the agitation would continue until their demands were met.
They said that they would gherao the Health Ministry. They also threatened of tough movement if the government did not take any step to cancel the admission tests.
It may be mentioned that the question papers were available by September 17 night, a day ahead of the tests. The results of medical and dental admission tests were published on Sunday.
