Sayed Khokon and Anissul Haque, newly elected mayors of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), have promised to work for resolving the problems of two bifurcated cities of Dhaka.
They made the promise in a reception programme arranged in their honour at RAWA Club in the capital on Sunday.
Three platforms of garments industry– Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), BKMEA and BTMEA jointly arranged the programme with
BGMEA President Atikul Islam in the chair.
Sayed Khokon said that he would decorate the city with electric lights on night of the upcoming Shab-e-Barat. He also promised to make the city clean.
Anissul Haque sought help of the businessmen and the owners of garments in implementing his electoral pledges.
