A workshop on the occasion of inauguration of Nutrition in City Ecosystem project was held at the RDRS Begum Rokeya Auditorium recently. Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) Mayor Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Syngenta Foundation Country Director Md. Farhad Jamil were present as the chief guests at the workshop. Additional Divisional Commissioner Md. Zakir Hossain, Civil Surgeon Dr. Hiramb Kumar Roy, Rashedul Haque, Panel Mayor Titu. Md. Moshfekul Alam Talukder presented the activities on behalf of Nutrition in City Ecosystem project.
RCC Mayor Md. Mostafizur Rahman said, “City Corporation is very interested in working on nutrition. He described the purpose of the project as very important in the context of Bangladesh and said that it would play an important role. He called upon all to come forward to build Rangpur as a nutritious city. “According to the government’s second nutrition action plan, it is possible to build a nutrition-rich city by working with multi-stakeholders, including multisectors,” he said.
Md. Farhad Jamil, Country Director, Syngenta Foundation, said: The project will work and he wants everyone’s cooperation in this work. “
The Nutrition in City Ecosystem project, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Corporations, will work with the city corporations, relevant government departments, national and international organizations to develop Rangpur and Dinajpur, two cities in northern Bangladesh, as nutritious cities.
The workshop was attended by RCC counselors, representatives of concerned departments of the government, representatives of various national and international development organizations, media personnel, representatives of women and youth society, civil society leaders.
