CCC election: Mayor, councillor candidates cautioned for violating code

Chittagong Zonal Election Commissioner Md. Abdul Baten cautioned the mayor and councillor candidates in Chittagong City Corporation polls with 6 months imprisonment and penalty of Tk 50 thousand if anyone violates the election code of conduct.
The last for election campaign fixed on April 26 next by the zonal Election Commissioner and Returning office of CCC polls-2015 . To monitor the election campaign , a 10 -member vigilance and observation team was constituted on Tuesday headed by Returning officer .
 Other members of the team includes local Commander of DGFI, Police commissioner of CMP, Additional Director of NSI, Regional Commander of BGB, Commandant of RAB-7, Police Super of Chittagong, Deputy Police Commissioner of SB, City, and Deputy Director of Ansar & VDP, Chittagong.
 The members of the vigilance team will watch the election campaign of the candidates and monitor the update situation to the Election Commission secretariat in Dhaka.
 Returning officer Md. Abdul Baten said this initiatives of forming vigilance taken to prove the neutrality of the returning officer. He also said Returning office is fully authoriesed to file any criminal cases before the concerned thana police in case any unfairmeans and violation of code of conduct.
Returning officer further said to conduct the CCC polls in fair , free and neutrality, this steps taken by the Election Commission.Sources said the team will physically watch the campaign in the city and will monitor the current situation to the EC secretariat in every three days
