Mayor Atiqul outlines plan for progress

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) newly elected Mayor Atiqul Islam has outlined his one year plan to make the city “beautiful and enlightened.”
“I have divided my plan into three parts. These are short-term, medium-term and long term.” Atiqul said on Saturday at Uttara in his first view exchange with journalists as mayor.
Responding to queries about his future plans, he said, “I pledge to start my mission immediately after I take oath.”
He added, he will do everything necessary to make Dhaka North City Corporation green and florid.
Atiqul’s plans for the next one year are: To transform Dhaka North City Corporation into an enlightened city, to prevent environment pollution, to make sure the Nagar app is operational, to digitalise and automate all kinds of transactions and taxes, to plant trees and encourage residents to have gardens on their roofs, to build playgrounds in all the areas, to return the footpaths to the citizens, to restore order in the transport and bridge sector, to take up development projects in the newly added wards and to ensure that previous mayor Annisul Huq’s plans are implemented
In the programme Mayor Atique said, with the help of Parliament Member (MP), local leaders and all kind of citizens, I will try to complete my work. We will work all together to build our dreamy Dhaka.
He urged the people to keep the plastic bottles and garbage bags at the selected places.
He thanked the Dhaka North City Corporation people for their support to him with love and compassion.
