Chittagong City Mayor M Manzoor Alam has called upon officials of the corporation to become more cordial and responsible in realizing the taxes from the city dwellers .
He said better civic service is dependable over the discharging the honest and sincere service of the officials of the govt . He disclosed while addressing the city dwellers at a meeting of views ex change at TIC hall on Wednesday .
City further cautioned the tax officials to be more dutiful in realizing the taxes and any negligence to their assigned duties will be dealt with seriously.
City mayor disclosed that in 2014-15 fiscal , out of total arrear holding taxes from 1,47,591 holdings of Tk.304 cr, only Tk.67 cr realized so far and lying outstanding Tk.227 cr. He also mentioned that city corporation is a service oriented autonomous body and at any cost, civic services should be extended to every city dwellers and the tax officials should be more dutiful and responsible aimed at sustaining the normal civic services in the city.
