BSS, Dhaka :
A person can register maximum 20 mobile phone SIM cards of all operators against his or her national identity card (NID), State Minister for Posts and Telecommunication Tarana Halim said on Thursday.
“We’ve decided to allow maximum 20 SIMs against a NID,” she told BSS at her ministry office.
The matter was finalized at a meeting organized to review the progress of the activities of the posts and telecommunications divisions on Thursday at the secretariat where Prime Minister’s Information and Communication Technology Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy was present.
Replying to a query regarding extra SIMs beyond the ceiling, Tarana said: “We will sit with law enforcement agencies soon with the data of central biometric monitoring system and take next decision regarding it.”
