The 40th death anniversary of Matiur Rahman, former Chief Reporter of the Bangladesh Times and the Weekly Holiday will be observe today (Friday). He died of cancer at the age of 37.
Before Liberation, Matiur Rahman joined the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) as Public Relations chief .He also worked as Public Relations Manager of the Bangladesh Biman.
Matiur Rahman worked as a stringer of the New York Times. He was also related with Sandhani Prokashani.
Khatme Quran and Milad Mahfil will be held today after Maghrib prayer at the residence of his sister in Mirpur in the city. Friends, relatives and well-wishers have been requested to attend the Miland Mahfil.
