Matarbari Deep Sea port in Cox’s Bazar will be opened for ship movement in 2026. Mother vessels or large ships will have berth there. Then the goods will be shipped in feeder vessels or small vessels, containers will come to Chattogram, Mongla, Payra port.
Transit facilities will go to India’s’Landlock area or Seven Sisters and to Nepal, Bhutan for containers or imported goods. Kolkata and Haldia ports of India will get benefits from the fact that Matarbari port is located at a shorter distance than Singapore. Matarbari Port will be the new destination of the Maritime world due to its geographical location and foresight in exploiting the blue economy.
