Khaled Mahmud Sujon-led Beximco Dhaka Masters emerged champions in the first-ever 100-ball battle of the 3rd Masters Cricket Carnival beating Khaled Mashud Pilot’s Air Asia Rajshahi Masters by five wickets in the final at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium here on Saturday.
Sajal Chowdhury of the champions Beximco Dhaka was adjudged the man of the final to receive Dhaka-Kuala Lumpur-Dhaka air ticket, sponsored by Air Asia.
Anisur Rahman Sanchoy of Air Asia Rajshahi named as the highest scorer, Faisal Hossain Dickens of Beximco Dhaka was adjudged the player of the tournament and the highest wicket-taker, Captain of Air Asia Rajshahi Khaled Mashud Pilot was adjudged the best fielder while Athar Ali Khan of Nations Khulna Masters named as the most valuable player of the meet.
Sent into bat first in the day’s final, Rajshahi scored 127 for 5 in 100 balls with Ehsanul Haque Sezan scoring 48, Khaled Mashud Pilot 30 and Anisur Rahman Sanchoy 16 runs.
Faisal Hossain Dickens grabbed three wickets for 30 runs while Talha Jubair took one for 20 runs.
In reply, Beximco Dhaka scored the match-winner 128 runs for the loss of five wicket in the last ball of the match.
Sajal Chowdhury contributed the team highest 48 runs and Faisal Hossain added another 36 runs.
Waseluddin Ahmed claimed two wickets.
Earlier in the morning, Beximco Dhaka booked a seat for the final beating Sylhet Sixers by eight wickets.
