A court here on Thursday placed Sohel Mahfuz, one of the suspected masterminds of the terror attack on Gulshan Holey Artisan Bakery, on a 2-day remand in a case filed under the Explosive Substances Act.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Shariful Islam passed the
order after police produced him before the court seeking a 7-day remand. Mahatab Uddin, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Nachole Police Station, said that the case was filed on May 12. Earlier, on July 7, police arrested Sohel along with three other militants from a secret meeting in Pushkuni area of Shibganj upazila. Sohel is also the northern region commander of Neo-JMB.
