RAB-7 forces has arrested Shahidul Hoq , the mastermind of the pilferage of Tk.3 crores from cash vault of Group-4 Security company in Chittagong .Shahidul Haq Shantanu, 24, was nabbed from Rangamati’s Sadar Upazila area within the premises of Rangamati college in the hill town around 7am yesterday and after his arrest he was taken in RAB’s Chittagong Zonal office in Patenga in city, said RAB-7 Staff Officer ASP Sohel Mahmud.
Shahidul was the ‘mastermind’ behind the theft. The theft issue was disclosed in the early hours of Sunday.The security provider’s Senior Manager Tarek Mansur filed a case at Khulshi Police Station after the stealing, which was done by a spare key of the vault containing the money.The detectives along with Sadarghat and Khulshi station’s police did the investigation.
Early on Tuesday, police recovered Tk 29.9 million from the house of one Md Bashir, 28 from Sadarghat area in city who was a Muazin of a mosque in the area. Police had then said that the mastermindShahidul managed to flee as the news of Bashir’s arrest with the money was reported promptly by the media .
