Massive development work including construction of roads, bridges, culverts, educational institutions, and seting up of sanitations and tube-well are going on in full swing in all former seven enclaves of the district.
The government has allocated Taka 32 crore for implementing different development programmes in the present fiscal year to facilitate the citizens of the enclaves.
After getting the allocation, the concerned department of the government has taken various development work of which 50 percent have been completed.Rest of the work would be completed in June, Upazila Engineer M Samim Akter said.
Talking to BSS, people of different erstwhile enclaves expressed their
gratitude to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for giving them a new life by implementing the infrastructural development.
“We are now happy to freely attend classes in our own schools, walking on pucca road, getting pure drinking water and sanitations facilities,” the citizens of the enclaves expressed.
The development works are going on under the supervision of Local
Government Engineering Department (LGED), the Engineer added.
