BSS, Dhaka :
Central leader of the ruling Awami League and Minister for Cultural affairs Asaduzzaman Noor, MP, on Friday said the initiative to render the national anthem by over a lakh people on the Independence Day at city’s National Parade Square is not a mere attempt to score a record, rather it’s a move to unite all the pro-liberation forces. “The programme on the day will work as an inspiration to face together the violence unleashed in the national polls in the name of politics. The prevailing festive mood among the young generation centring the planned programme of the March 26 was the highest achievement,” he said.
The Minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at the extended meeting of Dhaka City Awami League (AL) at its Bangabandhu Avenue office in the capital. Dhaka City AL convened the meeting in a bid to make the programmes of the Independence Day on March 26 including that of rendering of the national anthem by over one lakh (100,000) people from all walks of life a grand success. Acting president of Dhaka City AL MA Aziz presided over the meeting, also addressed, among others, by general secretary and Relief and Disaster Management Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya (Bir Bikram), joint secretary and Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam, AL office secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, Dhaka City AL vice-presidents Faezuddin Miah and Kamal Ahmed Mazumdar, MP, organising secretary Shahe Alam Murad and publicity secretary Abdul Huq Sabuj.
