The Wage Earners’ Welfare Board will conduct mass hearing of the migrant workers on the first Wednesday of every month to curb their problems.
“This Board is always working to settle complaints of the migrants. The wage earners have wide ranges economic contribution in the country sending remittance. The mass hearing is a part of our welfare services to them,” says an office order of the Board.
The hearing will be held in the office of the director
general of the Wage Earners’ Welfare Board at the Probashi Kallyan Bhaban on the Old Elephant Road, Dhaka.
The mass hearing will be held from 10:00am to 12noon at the office.
According to the Board, about 1.20 crore Bangladeshis are working abroad and they remit around 15 billion US dollars every year. The remittance is lifeline of the country’s economy.
