On the occasion of the 75th birth anniversary of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the first phase of mass vaccination program has been started in Sylhet in the second phase to prevent Kovid-19 infection.
The vaccination campaign started at 9 am on Tuesday (September 26) at 72 centers in Sylhet city and 303 more at the district level. All of whom are being vaccinated against synoform.
People have been seen getting vaccinated spontaneously since morning. Forty citizens, elderly, physically challenged, students and citizens of remote areas are being given priority in this program.
Sylhet City Corporation Chief Health Officer. Jahidul Islam said that vaccination activities have started with a target of 25,000 on the first day. If there is a demand from the people, this vaccination program will continue tomorrow.
Sylhet Assistant Civil Surgeon. JanmejayDutt said that the target for vaccination at the district level has been set at 1 lakh 60 thousand. Only registrants will be able to receive the vaccine during the two-day event.
