Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan MP on Thursday said awareness is essential in all strata of life to reduce road mishap all over the country.
The Minister was inaugurating two-day workshop on ‘Promoting Road Safety for Children’ organized by Accident Research Institute (ARI) at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
“Road accident and visual development of highway will be developed within three-year during present government….. Separate lane will be set up for slow-moving transports beside the highway,” he added.
He also said slow-moving transports have no permit to move in highway and stopping three-wheeler was matured demand of Bangladesh Sorak Paribahan Malik Federation.
The government included traffic rules in primary level text book according to the demand of BD Sorak Paribahan Malik Federation, the minister said.
BUET Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Khaleda Ekram presided over the function while Road Transport and Highway division secretary M A N Siddique, Education Secretary M Nazrul Islam Khan and ARI Assistant Professor Armana Sabhia Haque were present, among others.
