Awareness campaign against coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic among the people has been furthermore accelerated in Khulna by civil administration, armed forces and other law-enforcement agencies in the last couple of days.
Many of the city dwellers are seen keeping them confined at home willingly and maintaining social distancing in essential workplaces to tackle the spread of virus.
All the authorities concerned are working relentlessly to deal with the adverse situation being caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in the region.
“Our people and all other law-enforcers are performing duties with utmost sincerity and honesty to discourage people from coming out of homes besides maintaining social distancing and wearing facemasks during the present troubled time,” said Dr. Khondkar Lutful Kabir, Police Commissioner of KMP.
He mentioned that all of us should follow the health related restrictions, particularly social distancing that can be the vital means of curbing the virus outbreak.
Khulna Deputy Commissioner Md. Helal Hossain said 48 more people were fined around Taka 53,600 for violating laws related to the restrictions imposed due to coronavirus (COVID-19) situation in the district yesterday.
Mobile courts led by the respective executive magistrates found the people guilty of the charges as the people were found involved in violating the relevant laws at different areas, he added.
The army personnel and other law enforcement agencies’ members assisted the mobile courts.
Dr. Muhammad Anwar Hossain Howlader, Commissioner of Khulna Divisional, on Wednesday said all-out measures have been adopted to ensure social distancing, restrict gatherings and distribute food among the hand-to-mouth families.
