One mason named Nadim Hossain (28) met his tragic end and another mason named Kamrul (32) was seriously injured when they came into contact with a live electricity wire at the time of working in an under constriction building at Jatrapur area within Jatrapur Union under Sadar Upazila in Bagerhat on Saturday according to a report received here.
Sources added that some eye-witnesses that in the morning (at 11 am) a number of masons were working in the building belonging to one Dipankar, a businessman of Jatrapur Bazar and while they were erecting a steel body frame for construction of one of the columns (of the building), somehow, it (steel body frame) touched a live electricity wire passes by the side of the building. As a result, Nadim Hossain and Kamrul sustained severe burn injuries.
They were rushed to Bagerhat District Sadar Hospital where the physicians on duty declare Nadim dead and Kamrul was sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital for treatment after giving him first aid treatment.
Deceased Nadim was the son of one Dulal Shaikh of Jatrapur area. He left behind wife and two minor children to mourn his death.
