Mask crisis in Sylhet

Mask crisis has been reported in Sylhet city of Division following the identification of a corona patient in the country. There is no mask anywhere in the clothing store or pharmacy.
On Wednesday, all the pharmacy and clothing stores in the city were visited, no masks were found.
Sunmoon Fashion owner Shiraj Uddin of Sylhet Millianium Market said, “I brought a dozen masks from Dhaka at a cost of Tk.450. The mask is now being sold at a wholesale price in Dhaka for two and a half to three thousand taka.The mask is not available.
Wholesale cloth Store The Choice Owner DH Mamun said, the general quality mask made of cloth in the country, which we used to sell at a wholesale price of Tk 9, is being sold at a limited cost of Tk70-80. Good quality mask is 150/200 taka but there is no supply.
Pal Pharmacy owner Tapan Chandra Pal, National Pharmacy’s Kawsar Ahmed Chowdury said some dealers in Dhaka used to provide masks in the pair.They haven’t been bringing any more products since the Corona virus spread.
Tapan Chandra Pal of Pal Pharmacy complained that the mask was mainly imported from China. Importers of Dhaka have lowered supply of masks and raising prices. Moreover, the mask produced by local garment traders has been reduced in the same way as prices have been raised.
DC of Sylhet M Kazi Emdadul Islam said, “If the mask is sold at a high price somewhere, I will conduct the operation.” Already our monitoring team conduct the operation.
