Bangladesh beat touring England by 34 runs in the second of a three-match One Day International (ODI) series at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Sunday.
Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza blew England for 37 minutes and scored 44 runs from 29 balls to lift Bangladesh to 238 for 8 in allotted 50 overs. The 33-year all-rounder smashed 2 boundaries and 3 over-boundaries.
In reply, the visitors were bowled out for 204 runs in 44.4 overs.
The Bangladesh captain took 4 wickets for 29 runs. He got man of the match title for his outstanding performance.
Taskin Ahmed, the right-arm fast bowler, also bagged 3 wickets for 47 runs while Sakib-Al-Hassan, Nasir Hossain and Mosaddek Hossain Saikat each took a wicket for wrapping up the match.
England captain Jose Buttler won toss and chose to bowl first.
Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes opened batting for Bangladesh. Kayes who hit a century in the last match scored only 11 runs before getting caught at deep square by Willey off Chris Woakes in the 7th over.
A over later, his partner Tamim also departed after being caught at midwicket by Moeen Ali off Woakes. Tamim scored 14. Bangladesh lost second wicket for 26 runs only.
England pacer Jake Ball who claimed 5 for 51 on his debut to clinch the 21-run victory in the previous match bowled Sabbir Rahman (3) in the second delivery of his first spell.
Jake Ball also sent back Mushfiqur Rahim to the pavilion as he gave a catch to Moeen Ali after scoring 21 runs from 23 balls.
Sakib-Al-Hassan (3) was caught by Buttler of Stokes. Shakib struggled as he got a tickle down the leg-side. Buttler dove to his right and took a neat catch.
Adil Rashid broke the promising stand between Mahmullah and Mossaddek. Mahmullah went back being prey of lbw by Rashid. He registered a handsome score of 75 runs from 88 balls.
After a few minutes, Mosaddek hit a short ball off Rashid, pulling in the air. Moeen Ali took it from the cow corner. The young all-rounder scored 29 off 49 balls.
Then it was Nasir and Masharafe show. The duo made a 69-run partnership in the 8th wicket which is highest in Bangladesh innings.
Bangladesh skipper was run out just one ball remained in the innings. However, Nasir Hossain who replaced Mosharraf Hossain Rubel played a run-a-ball 27 hitting 2 boundaries.
England led the series with a 21-run win in the first ODI.
