Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted distant warning signal number two as the cyclonic storm “nada” over southwest bay and adjoining area moved west-northwestwards over the same area.
The cyclonic storm “nada” over southwest bay and adjoining area moved west-northwestwards over the same area, a special weather bulletin said on Thursday.
It was centered at 6 am on Thursday about 1660 kms southwest of Chittagong port, 1605 kms southwest of Cox’s Bazar port, 1545 kms southwest of Mongla port and 1540 kms southwest of Payra port. It is likely to intensify further and move in a west-northwesterly direction.
Maximum sustained wind speed within 54 kms of the cyclone centre is about 62 kph rising to 88 kph in gusts or squalls. Sea will remain very rough near the cyclone centre.
All fishing boats and trawlers over north bay and deep sea have been
advised not to venture into the deep sea and proceed with caution till
further notice
