The severe cyclonic storm ‘Hud Hud’ over the East Central Bay and adjoining West central Bay moved slightly west-northwest-wards and now lies over the same area, said a Met office special bulletin adding, it is likely to intensify further into a very severe cyclonic storm and move in a west-northwesterly direction.
The cyclone storm was centering at 6 am on Friday about 1010 kms south-southwest of Chittagong port, 935 kms south-southwest of Cox’s Bazar port, 945 kms south of Mongla port and 925 kms south of Payra port.
Maximum sustained wind speed within 64 kms of the storm centre is about 90 kph rising to 110 kph in gusts or squalls. Sea will remain high. The maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted distant warning signal no two, the bulletin added on Friday noon.
All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay and deep sea have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice. They are also advised not to venture into the deep sea.
