Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisting local cautionary signal number three as the deep convection is continuing over North Bay and adjoining coastal area of Bangladesh.
“Monsoon is strong over North Bay. Squally weather is likely to affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of the country,” said a met office bulletin here on Wednesday.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution. They are also advised not to venture into the deep sea.
Under the influence of heavy (44-88mm) to very heavy (89mm) rainfall with gusty or squally wind is likely to occur over Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions during the next 24 hours commencing from 11 am on Wednesday, said another weather bulletin.
