The Meteorological Department on Wednesday advised maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra to hoist local cautionary signal No 3.
“All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further,” a warning message of the department said here.
It said under the influence of monsoon low over northwest bay Gangetic West Bengal and adjoin Bangladesh coast, deep convection is taking place over North Bay.
Squally weather may affect North Bay adjoining coastal area of Bangladesh and the maritime ports, the bulletin warned.
