Women's Handball League: Mariner emerge as champions

Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club emerged as the champions of the Cute Women’s Handball League when they defeated Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited by 28-18 goals in the last Super Four match at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on Wednesday.
The winners led the first half 15-10.
Champions Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club secured nine points from three Super Four matches while runners-up Mohammedan Sporting Club collected six points from as many matches.
Gurmil of Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club scored 14 goals and her teammate Sanjita netted seven goals while Dalia and Nishi of Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited scored seven goals each.
After the final match Additional IG (Special Branch) of Bangladesh Police Dr Mohammad Jabed Patwari, BPM (Bar) distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest.
Additional Deputy-Commissioner and Chairman of the League Committee Begum Ayesha Siddiqua, Vice-Chairman of the League Committee Golam Habib, Vice-President of Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) Quamrun Nahar Dana, Vice-Presudent of the Federation Hasan Ullah Khan Rana, General Secretary of BHF Asaduzzaman Kohinoor and Secretary of the League Committee SM Khalequzzaman were present at the time.
President of Bangladesh Handball Federation AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul presided over the prize-giving ceremony.
