Twenty marginal and landless male and female farmers and sharecroppers expressed happiness Thursday after getting easy-term agriculture loans ranging from Taka 15,000 to 20,000 per head without security.
The loan recipient farmers are members of Uttar Dowlapara Farmers’ Group (UDFG) under Hafizabad Union Federation Farmers’ Forum (HUFFF) of RDRS Bangladesh in Sadar upazila of the district, a press release said.
Panchagarh branch of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) disbursed Taka 3.20 lakh agri-loans without security among 20 farmers belonging to UDFG to their bank accounts opened with Taka 10 at an open loan distribution ceremony there.
RDRS Bangladesh has been assisting the farmers for improving their livelihoods under Improving Food Security Governance in South and Southeast Asia through Strengthened Participation of Organisations of Marginalised Farmers Regional Project.
