Manufacturing quality products to flourish local industries stressed

Manufacturing of quality products maintaining international standard is crucial to flourish local industries for enhancing business and increasing exports to face the challenges of globalisation.
Noted industrialists and business community leaders expressed the view at launching of the month-long ‘Rangpur Industry and Trade Fair (RITF) – 2017’ on Police Lines Ground here on Wednesday.
Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), Rangpur Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RMCCI) and Rangpur Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RWCCI) jointly organised the fair.
Deputy Inspector General for Rangpur Range of Bangladesh Police Khondker Golam Faruk formally inaugurated the fair as the chief guest with President of RCCI Md Abul Kashem in the chair. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Wahiduzzaman, General Secretary of city Awami League Tushar Kanti Mandal, Senior Vice-president of RCCI Mostafa Ahmed, President of RWCCI Anwara Ferdousi Poly, President of RMCCI Rezaul Islam Milan, addressed.
Incumbent and former members and directors of RCCI, RWCCI and RMCCI executive committees, leaders of different other business organisations, businesspersons, bankers, civil society members, journalists and elite were present in the inaugural ceremony.
One-hundred stalls have been set up in the fair by the local entrepreneurs, industries, bodies and organisations from all over the country.
The speakers underlined the importance of producing quality products ensuring international standard to attract foreign buyers to increase export.
The Deputy Commissioner said the fair would play a vital role in promoting local entrepreneurs and industries to create employment opportunity.
The chief guest said the fair would help exploring brighter prospect for industrialisation in Rangpur region where the Uttara Export Processing Zone had been producing export oriented high quality products.
Abul Kashem urged the local entrepreneurs for flourishing industrialisation and trade to create more employment for local people to improve their socioeconomic condition in building Bangladesh a middle income nation by 2021.
