Mannan urges expatriates to invest in Bangladesh

Planning Minister MA Mannan on Monday claimed that business friendly atmosphere is prevailing in Bangladesh and urged the expatriates to invest here utilising their knowledge and experience for the country’s development.
The minister made the call while addressing a day-long seminar titled “NRB Engagement: The Way Forward” held at the LaGuardia Marriot Hotel in New York Organised by the Economic Relations Division (ERD), a2i, Cabinet Division, ICT Division, USAID, UNDP, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bridge to Bangladesh were the co-organizers of the seminar.
Bangladesh Permanent Representative to the UN Masud Bin Momen and Consul General of Bangladesh Consulate in New York Sadia Faizunnesa were present as special guests, said a press release.
Chairman of Bridge to Bangladesh Azadul Haque gave the address of welcome at the seminar.
Urging the expatriate Bangladeshis to participate in the development march of Bangladesh, Mannan said that the present government is ready to provide all kinds of facilities to the investors including security, energy, power, infrastructure facilities.
He also mentioned that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working with generosity to improve the investment climate and also for the welfare of the expatriates.
The planning minister said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had awarded us an independent nation and under the indomitable leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh has reached to the highway of development adding, “Bangladesh is now the surprise of the world.”
Quoting recent Asian Development Outlook update of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Mannan said Bangladesh is now the fast growing economy in the Asia Pacific.
