AKM Manir Hossain Pathan of Roads and Highways Department (RHD) has been appointed as its chief engineer, said a press release on Saturday.
He took charge on Saturday and replaced Abdus Sabur.
Manir joined RHD as an assistant engineer in 1989 and served as additional chief engineer of Planning and Maintenance Wing of RHD before being appointed as chief engineer, said the release.
Manir Hossain hails from Dakkhin Matlab in Chandpur district. He graduated in civil engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1986
Manir is the president of Roads and Highways Engineers Association and also the international affairs secretary of Bangladesh Prakoushal Parishad.
