Manikganj Superinten-dent of Police Mohammad Golam Azad Khan took a young man injured in a road accident to the hospital in his car. The police superintendent himself set an example of humanity by taking the injured to the hospital.
He rescued the youth from the Paturia ferry terminal at around 11am on Saturday (September 4) and took him to hospital.
Witnesses said Superintendent of Police Golam Azad Khan was returning to Manikganj from Paturia ferry terminal around 11pm.
At that time, he saw a motorcyclist injured in a road accident near the ghat lying on the side of the road.
He then stopped the car, took her in his arms and took her to ShibalayaUpazila Health Complex.
Shibalaya Circle Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Tania Sultana and Shibalaya Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) FirozKabir rushed to the hospital on hearing the news. Later, they inquired about the injured youth in the emergency department of the hospital.
The injured was identified as Hafizur Rahman, 34. He is Moslem Matabbar of Atarshi village in Sadarpurupazila of Faridpur. He worked in the accounting department of a private company in Dhaka. A three-month-old sick girl was hit by a private car on her way back to work. At that time he fell on the road and was injured.
Manikganj Superintendent of Police Mohammad Golam Azad Khan said, “I did the job not as a superintendent of police but as a human being.” We should all cooperate with people in danger.
