On the occasion of the 52nd death anniversary of Tofazzal Hossain Manik Miah, a pioneer of mass journalism, prayers were offered at the mosques of Rupganj, Bandar and Sonargaon in Narayanganj. The New Nation correspondent of Bandar upazila, Narayanganj Jahirul Islam Siraj organized prayers in different mosques of the upazila on Friday after Juma Prayer.
Tafazzal Hossain Manik Mia breathed his last on June 1, 1969 at the age of 56 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. This short-lived journalist is now the inspiration for fearless journalism in Bangladesh. Prayers have been held across the country on the occasion of the 52nd martyrdom anniversary of Tafazzal Hossain Manik Miah, the founding editor of The New Nation, widely circulated English daily in Bangladesh.
