The 48th death anniversary of the dreamer of Independence Bangladesh, path finder of mass and objective journalism and founder- editor of Dainik Ittefaq Tofazzal Hossain Manik Mia was observed at Shah Amanat Shah Dargah premises on Wednesday.
In observance of the death anniversary, Khatme Quoran and Doa Mahfil was arranged . Secretary of the Tanjimul Muslemeen Ethimkhana Prof. Hakim Jamaluddin Hezazi presided over the anniversary programme.
Among others, General Secretary of Chittagong Divisional Social Welfare Federation Hafez Md. Amanullah, President of Swadin Sangbadpatra Patak Samity Journalist SM Jamaluddin, Moulana Maskur Rahman , photo journalist of Dainik Ittefaq Mostafizur Rahman, journalist Nazimuddin, Hafez Anowar Hossain, Md. Nabidul Hoque were present on the occasion.
General Secretary of the social welfare federation Md.Amanullah said Manik Miah was the bright star of the newspaper and journalism in the subcontinent. He said Dainik Ittefaq was the main spokesman of the liberation movement .
President of the Patak samity SM Jamaluddin in his brief deliberations mentioned that the legendary politician of the sub continent Hossain Shahid Shurawardy , Bangabandu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Taffal Hossain Manik Miah were the supplementary forces of each other and the Dainik Ittefaq serves the purpose of independence of Bangladesh . He said Manik Mia was the true spokenU and dedicated journalist . Prof. Jalaluddin Hezazi conducted the munajat on the doa mahfil duly participated by orphans of the Ethimkhana, Ulemas, and wellwishers of Manik Miah , sources said.
