A court here sentenced a man to death in a murder case on Sunday noon.
Cox’s Bazar District and Sessions Judge Md Sadikul Islam Talukder announced the verdict against Shahidullah, son of Shamsul Alam of Boroghop Matborpara area under Kutubdia upazila in the district on Sunday at 12pm.
As per prosecution, the convict killed his wife Estafa Begum by strangulation in their rented house at Rajakhali Rabbat Ali Para under Pekua upazila here on August 25, 2014.
Later, the victim’s father Shabir Ali filed a murder case with Pekua Police Station.
After a long hearing, the Honourable Judge found Shahidullah guilty and announced the verdict.
Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) Adv Dilip Kumar Dhar conducted the case on government’s side while Advocate Mohammad Mostofa on defendant’s side.
