A Chittagong court on Wednesday sentenced a man to death for killing a youth in 2005.
The convict Soumitra Barua, 28, of Alkaran area in the city is now in jail.
According to the prosecution, Soumitra killed Tajuddin Babu, 20, on March 27 in 2005 as Tajuddin did not accept Soumitra’s relationship with his sister.
Locals detained Soumitra from Aboymitra Ghat while he was trying to throw the body in the Karnaphuli River.
